    The Role:

    We have an exciting opportunity to find a new Shift Superintendent to join our Kimberly-Clark Team.

    The Shift Superintendent role is responsible for the management of the Millicent Mill, ensuring operations which maximize performance in safety, quality, service and cost efficiency. We operate in a 24/7 environment following a 5 Shift Continuous Roster. You will be a key player in our team and your responsibilities will vary in nature; helping to build collaborative teams, influencing diverse stakeholders and promoting safe work practices through compliance and capability development.
    Accountabilities:
    Provide leadership and coaching to team members with the ability to motivate, influence and engage others in the achievement of Mill goals.
    Ensure compliance with all safety policies, procedures and safe work practices. Identify and remove safety hazards through participation in work place inspections and organising/conducting risk assessments.
    Coordinate the Mill’s emergency response across all assets, ensuring that the Mill Evacuation and Emergency Response procedures are available, communicated and understood by all employees.
    Manage teams in accordance with the Millicent Mill Production and Maintenance Enterprise Agreements.
    Manage shift production to achieve agreed production plans within the required quality and cost standards through monitoring OEE performance and waste reduction targets, prioritising and organising shift maintenance and after hours contractor support.
    Manage the crew’s to ensure flexibility is maximised and service levels for both internal and external customers are met. Organise absentee cover to ensure continuous production across assets.
    Demonstrate a high commitment to quality performance. Facilitate ongoing continuous improvement in operating practices.
    Communicate fully with superiors, subordinates and others who have a need to know. Be informative and precise in stating facts and communicate in a way that is timely, candid, accurate, clear and responsive.
    Ensure compliance with environmental laws, regulations, policies and procedures
    Maintain a high focus on energy utilisation, power production and consumption along with the cost of power imported from the grid and manage assets according to production priorities and energy capacity.
    Skills and Experience:
    Well-developed managerial skills, especially in planning and organising.
    Leadership skills that enables the effective coordination, coaching and development of individuals and work groups.
    A high level of operational judgement, together with the ability to set priorities and a sense of urgency.
    A sound knowledge of OHS requirements, safe work practices, procedures and programs.
    Experience in LEAN Manufacturing and continuous improvement.
