Lyndale Secondary College
Lyndale Secondary College is a large Years 7-12 single-campus educational provider. The current student population is 950. The College was established in 1961 to serve the North Dandenong area. It is well developed in terms of its educational, sporting and cultural resources and is highly regarded within its local community.
The College offers VCE (Victorian Certificate of Education), VET (Vocational Education and Training) and VCAL, as well as English as a Second Language and Integration support programs. The College also conducts a Select Entry Accelerated Learning Program which allows highly able students who are capable of working at a faster pace than most, to complete years 7 to 10 in three years instead of four years. This gives these students a range of options (e.g. University Enhancement studies) for their final years of schooling.
Over 40% of the school population was born outside Australia in 51 different countries and speak 56 different languages at home. The proportion of students from the Horn of Africa and Afghanistan has increased the cultural diversity of the school over recent years.
The College currently competes in the Greater Dandenong Zone in sport and has a long and proud history with many students achieving significant success at the State level.
The College has 70 equivalent full-time teaching staff and 22 Education Support staff including 1.8 Educational Psychologists.
The College has commenced stage one of a rebuild program which consists of the development of the specialist Science Centre.
In 2016, we began a Language School for International Students.
